Personal memory & dossier
Review what the butler remembers and control automatic learning.
Desktop source reviewed October 5, 2026
Review the three views
Open Settings → General & Personal Memory. The Living Dossier section separates saved facts, learned reflections, and the generated Markdown preview.
| View | What to inspect |
|---|---|
| Active Facts | Identity, preferences, projects, lifestyle details, and instructions recorded by the memory system. |
| Learned Habits & Reflections | Synthesized observations about working style; check them rather than treating them as facts. |
| USER_PROFILE.md Preview | The local dossier assembled from saved memory. Use Reveal in Folder to locate it. |
The memory engine resolves repeated facts by adding, updating, invalidating, or leaving a fact unchanged. Facts and reflections have importance and confidence values.
Control what is retained
- Review Auto-Learn Memories and turn it off if you do not want new automatic observations.
- Use + Add Fact for a deliberate preference or instruction.
- Inspect Active Facts and reflections periodically; use the app’s memory controls to remove unwanted entries.
- Use Wipe Memory only when you intend to clear the saved facts and reflections. Turning Auto-Learn off does not itself clear existing memory.
